Transportation

There are several ways to travel to the EuPN Gathering, whether you are coming by car, train, bus, ferry, or plane. We encourage everyone to consider lower-impact travel where possible, including car sharing and public transport.

For participants arriving by public transport, we will aim to coordinate a limited number of shuttle pick-ups from the nearest village bus stop. More information about shuttle times and how to request a pick-up will be shared closer to the event.

Please note that all travel arrangements remain the responsibility of participants, but we will do our best to support coordination where possible.

Transportation - bicycle riding in Brittany

Traveling by bicycle

Brittany is a beautiful region for cycling, with quiet rural roads, scenic routes, and varied landscapes. For those who enjoy traveling by bike, cycling to the gathering may be a rewarding and low-impact option.

If you are planning to cycle, please check your route carefully in advance and make sure it is suitable for your level of experience, especially if you are carrying camping gear or luggage. You may also wish to combine cycling with train travel, as some regional trains allow bicycles, depending on the service and available space.

Bicycle parking will be available on-site.

Traveling by train

There are TGV trains from Paris to Lorient, as well as train connections from Nantes and Rennes to Lorient. To book tickets click visit this website: https://www.sncf-connect.com

TGV trains require a reservation, and tickets are for a specific train with an allocated seat. We strongly recommend booking in advance, especially during busy travel periods, as services can sell out.

Once you arrive in Lorient, you can take a local bus towards the nearest village to the site which is Le Faouet. From the village bus stop, we will organise shuttle pick-ups to help transport people to the gathering site.

You can check regional bus times here: BreizhGo

We will do our best to coordinate a few shuttle collection times from the village bus stop.

Traveling by bus

It is also possible to travel by bus from Paris, Nantes, or Rennes to Lorient. From Lorient, you can then take a local bus towards the nearest village, where shuttle pick-ups will be arranged at selected times.

Please check routes and timetables in advance, as services may vary depending on the day and time of travel.

Traveling by car

You are welcome to drive directly to the site. Car parking will be available on-site.

Where possible, we encourage participants to car share in order to reduce costs, environmental impact, and the number of vehicles on-site. We are exploring the possibility of setting up a noticeboard or forum where people can offer lifts or request spaces in cars.

BlaBlaCar and ride sharing

BlaBlaCar is a popular car-sharing option in France and may be a useful way to get part or all of the way to the gathering.

If using BlaBlaCar, please make sure that your drop-off point allows you to either reach Priziac safely on foot, connect with the local bus route, or be dropped close to the village bus stop where shuttle pick-ups are planned.

Car sharing with other participants

We encourage participants to coordinate lifts with one another where possible. This can help reduce travel costs and make journeys easier, especially for those arriving by train, bus, or ferry.

We hope to provide a forum for attendees to offer or request car shares closer to the event.

Traveling by plane

The nearest airports with onward travel options include Brest, Rennes, and Nantes. From these airports, you will need to continue your journey by train, bus, BlaBlaCar, or car hire.

Please check onward connections before booking flights.

Traveling by ferry

For those traveling from Ireland or the UK, ferry routes to Roscoff or St Malo may be useful options. From the ferry ports, you will need to arrange onward travel by car, train, bus, or car share.
